 Hey electron, cut it out!

When I got to work today, Mark wasn’t there. I wasn’t really surprised as he is usually busy and it is always hard to get a hold of him.

 Prostate follow-up

Only went in for about 2 hours today. Worked on the prostate post plan for the implant we did last week. After they stuck the poor fellow with 26 needles (ouch!) he had a CT scan done. I used that data to figure out the actual location of the implant seeds. So come tomorrow, we can compare the treatment plan seed locations with the final shifted seeds. More specifically, the fields that the seeds defined can be compared so we can see where the hot and cold spots are.

On another note, I got the book that I ordered last week in the mail. I was flipping through it earlier and I think it will be a very good resource, not to mention an excellent and easy read. I wouldn’t be surprised if I finish reading it before school starts back up in the fall. N.B. - This is a textbook - not a leisure reading book… The Physics of Radiation Therapy

Today was the big day. The patient that we made the prostate seed plan for was going to have the seeds “implanted.”

 Nip/Tuck Returns!

Mark was off yesterday since he went to Iowa for the weekend to do a linac installation. That meant that I got off too. Didn’t really do much worth mentioning.

I didn’t have to go in until 4 PM today. We completed quite a few point dose measurements and some electron cutouts and finished them pretty quickly. Got home by 7.

The most important thing that happened today was that Nip/Tuck Season 2 started tonight. That show is freakin’ awesome. I can’t describe how happy I am when I see it. Call me weird, but I think I am going to go buy the Season 1 DVD box set sometime this summer… whenever I get some money.

 Break it down!

I didn’t have to go to work today because they were doing service on the linear accelerator, not to mention that Mark was out of town. Instead I stayed at home and chilled. Most of the time I was outside in the great weather watching our neighbor’s house being demolished. It’s not like you get to see that every day, so I took out a lawn chair and watched. I bet the demo manager thought I was nuts.
